Questions and answers
What is my gold jewellery worth?
The value of a gold item sold for melting depends on two things: its weight and its fineness (the karat figure). Multiply the weight by the gold content and the spot price per gram — the jewellery calculator does this automatically.
Does the brand or design affect the price?
When selling for melting, no — only the metal value counts. Jewellery from well-known designers or vintage pieces with collector value can, however, sell for more than the gold value, but that requires the right buyer.
How much will I get when I sell?
