Total metal value
24,50 g in total · 13,06 g pure gold
The larger the total quantity, the better the percentage you can usually negotiate. Ask for the weight and purity to be written down for each pile before the gold disappears into a bag.
The value of your total pile over time
Before you sell
- Weigh everything on a kitchen scale with 0.1 g precision — it is accurate enough for an estimate.
- Sort by stamp: 333, 585 and 750 are paid at different rates.
- Remove stones, clasps and anything that is not gold before weighing.
- Get the offer in writing as price per gram, not as a lump sum.

Questions and answers
What is used gold jewellery worth?
The metal value equals weight × fineness × spot price. On top of that a buyer deducts a margin, so you typically receive 70–95% of the metal value.
Does the design add value?
Only if the piece is a recognised brand or an antique with collector's value. Ordinary jewellery is bought by weight, not by design.
Where do I get the best price?
Compare at least three offers. Banks and online buyers usually pay more than pawnshops. See our comparison of buyer types.
